Fast casual–but authentic–Vietnamese street food tradition made the way you want it! Going veg*n? We’ve got your sprigs and your sprouts. Wheat allergy? No gluten for you! And don’t forget your side order of sauces and chopsticks–we keep our city clean with our Zero Waste menu!

Pho

Build your own bowl. Start with our delicious homemade beef bone or veggie burdock root broth, add some sprigs and sprouts, choose between animal and plant protein, and top with your favorite sauces.The only limit is your appetite.

Banh Mi

The OG. Our authentic 10-12" Viet baguette is baked daily and served with traditional toppings and house made Viet bo (garlic aioli).

Eggrolls

We don’t need to tell you what an eggroll is, so we’ll just say, you got options: vegetarian, shrimp and lump crabmeat, or pork and chicken. Served with traditional Sprig and Sprout sauce, or choose your own!

Vermicelli

Too many choices? Try our light and filling Vermicelli. Your choice of protein, chilled rice noodles, basil, bean sprouts, pickled carrot and daikon, shredded lettuce, julienned cucumbers, peanuts and Sprig and Sprout sauce (traditional nuoc cham).

Feeling fancy? Try our 5 spice quail special, with our proprietary 5 spice blend ground in small batches from our family's apothecary in Saigon. Served over a bed of sweet greens and jasmine rice.

Catering to our community…literally.

We believe a small business can and should be more than a moneymaker. Much like the programs that helped our families immigrate to the U.S., we founded the Community Catering Program to seek out and assist organizations that directly support disadvantaged populations.

We choose a deserving nonprofit each month to receive an entire catering order free of charge (worth up to $300). Fill out our form below to nominate an organization you believe deserves a little extra love with a side of banh mi.

Serving the local Temple

Since 2012, we have coordinated with a local all-female Buddhist temple to source unique and delicious vegan options, such as Vegan Eggrolls and BBQ Seitan. We give back to the temple, providing a consistent and reliable revenue source that enables them to grow.

In our decade-long partnership with the temple, we have sourced enough ingredients and vegan meals from the temple to help them construct a larger building and provide more assistance to their local Vietnamese community.

Too Good To Go–Food Waste Reduction

Serving our community means more than being your go-to neighborhood Vietnamese eatery . It means keeping our city clean, limiting waste, and giving back, which is why we participate in the Too Good To Go program.

Rather than waste unsold food, Too Good To Go repackages and sells leftovers at deep discounts. We make no profit from these sales, and partner with TGTG purely to combat food waste. We’ve saved over 4.5 tonnes of CO2 through food waste reduction already!

Opened in 2012 to bring a modern flair to Vietnamese dining in the D.C. area, Sprig and Sprout was founded by owners and chefs Jennifer Hoang and Marc Farmer.

We specialize in fast casual Vietnamese dining, providing the best and freshest staples of the cuisine, such as pho, banh mi, vermicelli, and Viet goi. Community-minded and service-driven, we deliver, cater, and make the best damn bowl of pho this side of the western hemisphere.

The best pho and banh mi in the city. Great quality food. My go-tos are the crispy chicken banh mi and build your own beef bone broth pho bowl with eye of round x2, mushrooms, and salt and pepper tofu. I’m obsessed with the broth and sometimes just order a cup as well :)”
